She’s safe. And has spent every single moment since leaving that kennel showing her love and gratitude. She had all of you show up for her, sending heartfelt wishes, prayers and love. She had the entire room clapping for her as she left the building. To say Lola is magical would be an understatement. Because what she radiates the entire world feels. Right now she’s here with us. Our first foster since losing our home in the Palisades Fire last year and relocating to Venice. It feels good. And she’s the most pawfect little house guest. Even Treasure @2pups4paws loves her. And that’s saying something. You guys, to experience that first exhausted exhale from this little girl was truly an honor. Definitely one of those things in rescue that reaffirms and resets our souls. She slept through the night, snuggled into my body, one of the pack. Tomorrow is her vet visit. We will do a senior blood panel and a full wellness exam. There will be a dental at some point. But not now. Because first she needs to relax. To feel safe. Let her body recover from what she just experienced. I’m not gonna lie. When we go outside into our little yard, she runs to the gate. She’s looking for her people, her home. It guts me. But I keep telling her that I understand her heartbreak. But we are here to love her now, she has a whole village behind her, and soon her Forever humans are going to take her home and never let her go. Promise. Lola is 13 years old. She’s maybe 7 pounds.
