That's literally the whole point of the scene though. Clark is looking at it purely from a "saving lives" perspective, but Lois is a real journalist who sees the fallout. Smashed tanks and entering foreign airspace have massive global consequences. It's supposed to show how his good intentions clash with real world politics. And yeah, he comes across as naive but that just adds more conflict to Clark and Lois' relationship (Idealism vs. real world politics). And it just makes the payoff of Clark and Lois making amends later on in the movie feel a lot more satisfying. You don't want them to just be a happy go-lucky couple, do you? You don't want Clark to just be a stoic emotionless robot, do you?

this is such a bad take. I understand that he wasnt in the right for literally everything he did but that is something like an early year 3 superman would actually say in the comics. supermans number one priority is to save as many peoples lives as possible. sure maybe like a year 5 or 10 superman would do it differently but this is extremely good for supermans character because it shows he dosent really care or think about politics much and only cares about saving lives. that is THE SUPERMAN
