@newslionsa: “Some leaders are punishment from God.” PLO Lumumba is challenging one of the most powerful ideas in African politics: that leaders can claim their authority is divinely ordained. It is not an abstract debate. Earlier this year, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu said he had followed the “leadership destiny that God has chosen for me”. Lumumba’s message to young Africans is different: do not judge politicians by how religious they sound. Judge them by whether they fight corruption, serve the people and deliver results. Should faith influence how Africans choose their leaders, or should performance come first? #Lumumba #Africa #Religion #Politics #PanAfricanism
