Learn the patterns and relationships that exist in every key. For example, take the 1–4–5 progression. In C: C - F - G Move to G: G - C - D Move to A: A - D - E The names of the chords change, but the relationship stays the same. That's the important part. Once you understand the numbers, chord qualities, scales and common progressions, you can begin transferring what you already know from one key to another. Then take it further: 🎹 Practice your scales in all 12 keys. 🎹 Practice common chord progressions in all 12 keys. 🎹 Practice your inversions in all 12 keys. 🎹 Practice your 2–5–1 progressions in all 12 keys. 🎹 Practice gospel songs in different keys. And don't try to master all 12 keys in one day. Consistency beats cramming. The goal is to reach a point where changing keys doesn't make you panic.
