There are some people who enter our lives quietly, almost unnoticed at first, and somehow, with time, become impossible to imagine our lives without. I wish I could take away every uncertainty that has entered your life and replace it with peace. If words could do that, I would spend every day writing them for you.
But perhaps words cannot remove the difficult road ahead.

And, above all, you are so much more than the illness you are facing.
Cancer may be a part of what you are experiencing, but it is not the definition of who you are. It does not erase your personality, your kindness, your memories, your dreams, your laughter, your wisdom, your relationships, or the countless lives you have touched. It does not reduce your worth. It does not diminish the beauty of the person you have always been.
Before there was a diagnosis, there was you.
There was the person who laughed.
The person who cared.
The person who made people feel welcome.
The person who had dreams.
The person who made mistakes and learned from them.
The person who had good days and bad days.
The person who loved people.
The person who was loved in return.
That person is still here.
