how old is he? is he developmentally at a place to understand an age appropriate explanation of "commitment" or following through even if you don't like something because it was just a bad choice you made. natural consequences. that is a priceless lesson to learn early, because it teaches them to truly think about their choices. it's a damaging lesson to learn too late in life.
