@astute_counsel_wellness: Have you ever wondered if the changes you’re feeling could actually be hormonal? After a lovely Self-Care Sunday, I took a new step in my own wellness journey and applied my very first estradiol patch. Estradiol is one of the main forms of estrogen in the body, and as estrogen begins to fluctuate and decline during perimenopause and menopause, we can experience changes in sleep, mood, anxiety, energy, brain fog, skin, hair, libido, body composition, joint discomfort, hot flashes, night sweats and sometimes just not feeling quite like ourselves. Hormone replacement therapy may be an option for some women, and an estradiol patch is one way estrogen can be delivered through the skin. For me, this process started with bloodwork, a consultation and a conversation about my symptoms and goals at Fulcrum Aesthetics in Chicago. This stage of life has also become a special area of interest for us at Astute because so many of us are going through these changes ourselves. That’s why we created Wiser Body: Reclaiming Identity, Body Trust & Inner Balance, an integrative workshop for the menopause transition. On Saturday, October 17 from 11 AM–1 PM, Kathryn Norris and Lisa Love will guide an experience focused on somatic practices, self-compassion, breathwork, sound, nervous-system regulation, body-image changes, rest and reconnecting with yourself. Perimenopause and menopause can make your body and mind feel unfamiliar, but you don’t have to navigate it without support. Are you ready to start understanding what your body may be asking for in this stage of life? #Perimenopause #estrogen #WomensWellness #HormoneHealth #MenopauseSupport
