I don’t know if is the right direction to go, but I’m starting to see Friday the 13th (at least the first couple of them) as a cautionary tale; where Jason is the product of bullying and negligence. I’m not trying to paint Jason (or Pamela) as innocent or justified in their behavior, it’s more like Pumpkinhead, where Jason is almost the embodiment of karma that’s taken on a life of his own.

I feel like Bubba from TCM is in a similar boat. Yes he has mental disabilities but he wasn't bad because of that, he was bad because his family mistreated him and raised him in isolation from any aids. (if I remember everything correctly.)

I think the issue is that disabilities or disabled people are often portrayed as evil, dangerous, and violent in horror but also in a lot of other genres. But I think that the story of Jason taking revenge on the people who harmed him because of his disability is a good one. pretty sure thats only like 1 & 2 tho

I know people don't like how in Jason goes to hell its heavily implied that Pamela revived Jason as a deadite and thats how he survived because it underminds disabled people, but isn't it possible that Jason unknowingly to Pamela survived being drowned but Pamela still tried reviving him with the necronomicon but because he didn't die, it fucked it up making it so Jason couldn't die, as in fate would intervene to make sure Jason couldn't stay dead? for example making him stronger and faster so he could more easily survive the wild and not die, and then after Friday the 13th part 4 when he dies fate tries to intervene later in Friday the 13th part 6 where he gets hit with lightning which revives him, or for example how in the movie with the telekenetic girl she bring Jason out of the lake instead of her dead father because fate wouldn't let Jason die, or in Jason takes Manhattan where underwater electrical lines revive Jason again, or how in Jason x he was discovered in the future where he is unfrozen, revising him, or how he was shot up in the same movie and got torn apart just to land on a nanobot healing table thing that revived him and made him more powerful, or how Freddy revived Jason because people weren't afraid of him anymore,
