Potentially really silly question, how do you guys get vintage perfumes from the 20’s/30’s/40’s/etc. to study from? Does your school actively make new samples for you guys or do they have a stockpile of discontinued fragrances?

Maybe a stupid question but studying at perfumery school, do you focus on women oriented scents? Or do you dive into lines catered towards men or gender neutral? Are they like different graduation paths like how there’s psychology, adolescent psychology, and adult psychology?

I took a class in college that was perfumery and the professor kept docking points off bc I couldn't smell lavender (I was severely allergic and had asthma so I would have had an asthma attack) and yes I was supposed to have special accommodations bc it was literally the only scent that I couldn't smell.

You as a perfumery student, how do you make/study accords? For example how do you know to make the scent of an apple? Is that something you do through gcms analysis or are you told what materials to use to create an apple accord? 🤔
