As much as I love Dean, Sam is far more welcoming and understanding. He’s more open in comparison to Dean and I’m not done with the show yet, but it really does hurt me seeing Sam get shoved off to the side a majority of the time

Yes, bc can you imagine the stories we could've gotten? A respected angel falls in love with the boy with the demon blood, so he rebels against heaven and betrays his kind for someone who the angels deemed "and abomination"? This would've been epic storytelling.

It’s a paradox. The same with me and my sister. Dean is stoic, mean and rational, so when he acts caring and is emotional it’s seen as something special and he gets praised for it, for being the tough guy with a soft heart. Sam’s default is considerate, kind, patient, compassionate. So when he slips up it’s like the thing he did “wrong” automatically gets put under a magnifying glass. It’s about what stands out, bcs things that differ from the usual get noticed. Just like how some people only remember the times you—for example—accidentally forgot to unload the dishwasher, while 9/10 you don’t forget. To them it LOOKS like you keep forgetting bcs those are the only moments that they register in their memories.
