I’m so thankful my in laws are amazing. My father in law is more of a father to me than my own dad. My mother in law and I both had almost the exact same upbringing (traumatic). 💖

Also some sense of humour can help. None of us is perfect. Everybody should just lighten up. I probably could have been a better daughter in law. I did what I had to do - but my heart wasn’t really into it. I saw them when I had to - made the best of it and it doesn’t go on forever. If I was advising a younger person, I would say be as kind as you possibly can- it will make you feel better about yourself in the end.
