as a mum who has anorexia, you can’t just switch off your disorder for your child. so many days i’m drowning in guilt for being ‘selfish’ i want to be better for him, but it just doesn’t work that way. it’s a mental disorder which takes a lot of discipline and courage to recover from. she’s trying & that’s what matters. no one would call you a ‘terrible mother’ for suffering with depression or anxiety.
