after every 5k I used to call my dad while walking away from the finish line and he'd tell me how proud of me he was. The first race I did after he passed, my best friend's dad wrapped me in a hug and told me "I know I'm not your dad, but I am a dad,, and I'm proud of you". It meant the world to a 30 year girl who lost her father only 2 months before

In highschool I called my sisters college boyfriend (my now BIL) to get relationship advice. He mentioned it to my sister and she was like you have to answer her call everytime no matter what, and he always has.

My sister is a single mom and when my niece was a baby, sometimes she’d call me in the middle of the night because she was overwhelmed. Sometimes I’d go over but more often, my husband would tell me to go back to sleep and he’d go over and take care of the baby so my sister could sleep too. He passed 6 months ago and I can’t believe we’re doing life without him 😢

No one tells you that one of the coolest parts of being the baby sister in a family full of girls is getting older brothers who will stand by you forever. I met my brothers in law when I was 10 and 13 - I’m 31 now and can’t imagine my life without my brothers. However I SWEAR TO GOODNESS IF SOMEONE ON HERE RATS ME OUT FOR SAYING ANYTHING NICE ABOUT THOSE FOOLS ILL FIGHT.

I got in a car accident today pretty bad i was the driver my friend in the passenger seat i got pretty banged up she was barely hurt at all i got out the car and just kept asking for the cops or something to get my phone cause i needed to call my sister i just needed my sister and she finally came and we just lauphed and made jokes

I have a 28 yr old daughter and a daughter 10 yr old daughter, along with a 25 yr old son. But my oldest daughter has had this boyfriend, father of her children, for about 7 yrs. He’s never really made much of an effort with her little sister even though he’s known her since she was 3. She’s finally left him. Realized she’s deserved better all along. The new guy she’s met? Has already included my youngest in a few outings. He asks her about school and her gymnastics. He even included her in a bonfire at his family’s house that he took my oldest to. It really does make a difference when people who join and are welcomed into your family, also make that effort as well.

My baby sister needed to borrow a truck and my H said she couldn’t use his. That was the final straw. I’m planning my exit. My sisters are EVERYTHING, and as much as I know I deserve better, seeing him mistreat them was what gave me clarity.

My older brother called one night on date night and had somehow forgotten his work keys… my husband dropped everything paid the bill and we drove 30 minutes home for him to get the keys and take them another hour away to him. I couldn’t ask for a better person to also love my people that my husband 🥰

i was having a really bad panic attacks and suicidal ideation a while ago and my brother was working (him and my sil live out of state) so i was able to call my SIL and she was able to calm me down. she’s literally the best person ever, and the closest thing i have to a sister
