It’s not Iraqs official law, iraqs official law is 18 years old but in Iraq you are allowed to pick a religious school to go after and it’s the jaafari school that has sick laws. So the ones affected are those that follow that school. But there’s a big shift happening in Iraq because of this, many are changing the school to hanafi which has way better laws.
