I will say as a mom myself im concerned about the things that go into their bodies but im told by doctors life is about balance as long as you feed your kids the right things and healthy options and holiday’s and birthday’s are okay to give them a chance to have a treat. Its not a bad thing one day of celebration and balanced meals with treats wont hurt them.

My mom was like you (not as bad) and it turned into a binge eating disorder once I moved out 🫩 I finally have it under control (5 years later) but being a controlling mom doesn’t always benefit your child in the long run. I wish i was taught balance instead of restriction.

so they won’t get one piece of regular candy? i think that’s pretty extreme tbh. i do know some people who let their kids keep like 5-10 regular pieces and switch out the rest for the “better” options. no fun to not let them have any lol

Although I don’t eat clean all the time because of you I’m much more conscious as to what I’m eating! And think this is an awesome way to make Halloween still fun! No reason to stuff yourself with candy!

We do the “Halloween fairy” (I didn’t like the witch concept) she brings his costume, some themed activities, his bucket (same one every year), and our holiday blowups for the yard on 10/1 and on Halloween night he leaves most of his candy on the porch to “pay her” for storing his stuff all year and delivering his costume and she leaves a small activity or toy of some kind. Nothing crazy- and we don’t have to deal with changing mind on costume 8 times 😂
