The "crashed flying saucer" you saw downtown was actually not a movie or TV film set—it was a large-scale, interactive art installation for Toronto's annual overnight art festival, Nuit Blanche 2026, which took place this weekend from Saturday night, October 3, to Sunday morning, October 4.
The exhibit, simply titled "UFO," was created by artist Brandon Vickerd. Located at Queen Street West and University Avenue (right outside the Sheraton), it features a highly realistic, full-sized retro flying saucer that appears to have violently crash-landed directly onto a sedan, complete with simulated smoke, flashing strobe lights, and actors roaming the area. The piece is intended as a commentary on Cold War-era imagery, conspiracy theories, and public spectacle
