Sisterrrr, one of em saw me at the store the other day, now mind you had a very gorgeous yellow pagne dress on so I understand, but tell me why she gonna say “oh thats too much for me I couldn’t get dressed up like this every day” i was like “i can definitely tell but that’s OK we all different.” She was gagged! Like go awayyyyy!! They are so obsessed!!!

I have a dark skinned child - I stopped taking him to playgrounds in UT on Saturdays because of the harassment he faced. Sunday play is WAAAAYYYYY better!

they're kids dude. they stare at everything. doesn't mean they're judging. My dad is disabled and thinks everybody is looking at him all the time. I was always so proud he was my dad. I've watched him hold himself back because he was worried what other people think. Don't worry about it.

Yep. Utah is wild. My son joined a piano competition in March, and when we got there we were the only Latinos…. Out of the 7-8 families everyone looked at us with FEAR at the recital. I was like….

Wait that’s wild 😂 I’m a Californian living in Utah and a big reason I want to move is so my kids can experience diversity/different cultures. I can teach them all day long but it’ll only go so far when they’re surrounded by kids that only look like them 🫠

Im white but have a bunch of tattoos and dye my hair red, moving to Utah was a cultural shock for me and apparently every child and old lady that run into me haha

I’m white and raising children in Utah. My 4 yr old is very curious about people who are different colors. We have traveled so much with her, but books had the discussions and done our best to expose her to all different types of people but she still stares before she engages. We encourage her to make friends with everyone. I always feel so bad because I don’t know what else to do to prevent it. I do my best to engage with the parents and apologize
