Some dogs are happiest chasing adventure. Others are happiest curled up beside the people they love. Davis is hoping for both. At just 2 years old and 57 pounds, he’s the kind of dog who will happily join you for a weekend hike, an evening walk around the neighborhood, or a quiet night on the couch. Wherever you are, that’s exactly where he wants to be. Davis arrived at the shelter as a stray, but he hasn’t let that take away his happy, affectionate spirit. He already knows “sit,” walks beautifully on leash, is potty trained outdoors, and is highly treat-motivated, making him eager to learn and a wonderful candidate for continued training. Spend just a few minutes with him, and you’ll notice how closely he checks in with his people, especially if there’s a little affection - or maybe a treat - involved. More than anything, Davis loves to be close to the people he cares about and happily soaks up every cuddle he can get. Davis has continued to impress volunteers - not just with people, but with other dogs, too. He recently participated in an urgent playgroup, where he greeted another dog with a wagging tail and did wonderfully. Volunteers describe him as a well-mannered, happy boy who’s full of love and has so much to offer his future family. As with any new dog, slow introductions are always recommended, but Davis has shown he’s a wonderful companion to both people and other dogs. It’s easy to see why everyone who’s met him has fallen for his sweet face and loving personality. Now all Davis needs is someone willing to give him the chance he’s been waiting for. 🆔 Davis (A571750) 🐾 Male • 2 years old • 57 lbs ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📍 Prince George’s County Animal Services Facility 3750 Brown Station Road Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 🕐 Shelter Hours Tuesday–Friday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM Saturday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM 🚫 Closed Sunday & Monday ⏳ Davis needs placement by Tuesday, August 11. 🎉 Great news! All adoption fees are sponsored through the month of August as part of the Maryland 3000 and Clear the Shelters campaigns. That means Davis’s adoption fee - and every other adoptable pet’s fee - is completely waived this month! Interested in fostering? If you’re already an approved shelter foster, you must commit to the dog you’d like to foster by today (Friday, August 7). Fosters must live within 50 miles of the shelter. 📧 Foster inquiries: fosterpgcpets@co.pg.md.us Interested in adopting? 📧 Adoption inquiries: adoptpgcpets@co.pg.md.us 🐾 If you’re planning to adopt, please arrive at least one hour before the shelter closes. ☎️ The shelter rarely answers the phone, so email is the best way to reach them. If you need help navigating the process or have questions, comment below and we’ll do our best to help. 🤍 If you can’t adopt or foster, please share Davis’s story. One share could be the reason he finds the person who’s been looking for a loyal companion just like him. #dmvtiktok #adoptdontshop #fosteringsaveslives #marylandtiktok #rescuedismyfavoritebreed
