@shanajray: OKAY… I HAD TO PUT IT TO THE TEST! 😂✂️💗 Before I even finished my new salon apron, I decided to actually PUT IT TO WORK at the salon—and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked! I designed this specifically for the way I work while braiding, so I wanted to see if it would actually be comfortable, functional, and easy to move around in for hours. And it WAS. 🙌🏽 I had my combs, clips, brush, rubber bands, sanitizer, spray bottles, and other tools right there with me. I even made a specific narrow pocket for my comb so I can grab it easily with my right hand without it sliding around or falling out. The bigger pocket held a spray bottle, brush, and other essentials, and I had another bottle clipped on the side. And the BEST part? I could move around the chair freely without constantly reaching across my station or walking away from my client to grab something. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and honestly looks like a cute little pleated mini skirt with pockets. 😂💗 I had a few questions going into the test—would the pleather feel too warm? Would the fit feel restrictive? Would the pockets actually hold what I needed? Would it be comfortable enough to wear for hours? So far… YES! 👏🏽 And this isn’t even the finished version! 👀 I still have a few things I want to add to make it even more functional. I love when something I create isn’t just cute—it actually SOLVES A PROBLEM. And this is exactly why I love designing. I can see a need, sketch the idea, grab some old fabric, make it up as I go, and turn it into something that actually works for ME.
