@karl.yeh_ai_explorer: If AI saved all your employees 2 hours tomorrow, would they know what to do with it? And at first the first thing to really do is you've got to check whether the time was actually saved, because even if work has been automated or redesigned, there is still manual work that needs to be done to oversee the process, including optimising the instructions, checking it against different models, and checking the outputs in maintaining the process at least every quarter as models change, instructions are different, and there are new features and capabilities that could either enhance or make the whole process irrelevant. For example, if we're building construction estimates or construction estimate packages, a 2 hour process could turn into 20 minutes using AI. However you still need to do checks for corrections for accuracy, which takes an additional 25 minutes. So the total time could be 45 minutes instead of 2 hours And let's say this person does 20 estimating packages per month that's about 25 hours of additional capacity. It's measuring the time from creation to final output not to the first draft . And then determine if that added capacity is actually usable or just backfills an already overburdened employee This is what works with Heather's framework: - Is the time available actually meaningful, or is it scattered? - Does the employee have the skills and authority to actually use the time differently? - Is there other valuable work waiting? - As mentioned, does the person actually have the capacity to do it? We still got to determine what the added capacity should produce. Is it producing: - more - better service quality - lower costs - being more sustainable for work - added future capabilities? And sometimes we forget that we need to have the employee as part of these decisions. Because if they're more efficient why would someone volunteer if they were just getting more work? Or maybe the reduced amount of work can reduce the pressure on that person because they're already having to juggle multiple tasks And finally just because there was time saved and things go faster. Was there an actual benefit? #timesavingtips #timesaved #aiforbusiness #aibusiness

I'm working on internal tools to automate extracting time sheet data to calculate payroll for 50 construction workers. As of now, we manuallynkey in data and sent back to supervisor to double check the data. Problem is handwritten time sheets are not 100% reliable way of using ocr. The best is option is just let it to much of the work and just verify myself. Going forward I have some ideas to solve this. Our headcount will cross 1000 in six months.
