I’ve seen several of these Minecraft videos explaining economics now. I swear all of them are paid for by the corporations and billionaires. All slightly biased in the favor and narrative of big business.

40$ a month dues and I pay about 10k a year in working dues. 4.30 per hour doesn’t hit my bank. BUT fully employer funded retirement, healthcare, company rig, gas card, phone, and 78 an hour it’s worth the dues. Still net 74 an hour

as a carpenter, I was earning $17 an hour with no benefits or coverage. I joined the carpenter's union and started making $27.10 an hour, had full medical and dental coverage, eye coverage, life insurance, and got free training for what ever safety tickets I required. all of those benefits for just paying $20 a month for my union dues. it is insane to me that there are so many people who think unions are useless.

I pay 1% of my income in union fees. If I were to strike, my day is fully paid. Unions fought for so many things we take for granted. 40h work week, 8/10h days, minimum vacation days, paid parental leave, weekends, all that. Bosses talk a lot of shit about them because they fear workers having power.

Mind you the raise in cost isn’t necessary. It’s only because Richard wants to maintain his ratio of income earned in relation to the workers that he raises the prices of his iron.

My grandad was a union man good pay his whole life remember unions are a part of a healthy worker-employer relationship the goals of the worker and the company will be forever at odds make sure you advocate for yours

the propaganda that prices have to go up stays even in Minecraft. most of these companies around when unions were formed and then later had actual power, had such significant profit margins they could afford to increase wages and not increase price while retaining high profit margins. same applies to a lot of companies today
