@safiamanzoor93: My father Peter Smoothy, one of the last surviving D day veterans, passed away on 9th September at the age 101. His ship LST 215 was on Juno Beach on the morning of the 6th unloading tanks and troops, they then load several hundred German prisoners for the return trip to Southhampton. His funeral will held be at Charing Crematorium, Kent, on Tuesday 13th October at 12.30. If anyone would like to attend you will be most welcome.
