30 days ago, I decided to challenge myself to do something I knew I needed to get better at: talking on camera. Not trying to sound perfect. Not memorizing every word. Not recording the same video 47 times until I finally liked it. Just… yapping. 😂 And after doing it consistently for 30 days, I learned a few things I honestly wish I understood when I first started creating content. The biggest one? You don’t become confident and then start. You start, and THAT is what builds the confidence. At the beginning, you might hate the way you sound. You might overthink where to look, what to do with your hands, whether you’re talking too fast, or whether anyone even cares what you have to say. But repetition changes that. Eventually you stop thinking so much about the camera and start focusing on the person on the other side of it. You find your voice. You get better at telling stories. You start realizing which parts of your personality you were accidentally hiding because you were trying so hard to “make content.” And you realize that sometimes the thing standing between you and getting better isn’t another course, another piece of equipment, or another month of planning. It’s reps. 30 days of yapping didn’t make me perfect on camera. But it made me a LOT more comfortable being myself on camera. And I’ll take progress over perfection every single time. If you’ve been waiting until you feel confident enough to start posting, consider this your sign: Start awkward. Start nervous. Start before you feel ready. Because the version of you who’s comfortable on camera might only exist after you’ve posted the first 30 videos. 🎥 What’s one thing you’ve learned since you started creating content? 👇
