As we get older we realize that institutions are not what we think they were they're not for the people or for justice theres hidden agendas back in the day that was the climate to trust them but now in our timeline we are not naive and see them for what they are they twist the morality to benefit themselves and use us , me personally john takes what the oath means to him will do whats right for the people and not to please the powers to be, at least thats how I feel about this new oath.

this show and especially the finale was an absolute slaughter of the comics. i know shows aren’t supposed to be 1:1 recreations but changing the oath which is one of the most iconic aspects of a green lantern and then making john some weirdo lone wolf “lantern” was absolutely disgusting. with how important colors are to the whole lantern mythos, making him some odd one out was just disappointing

The oath perfectly captures John's story arc. It starts out like normal, but rather than being like the green lantern he was raised and conditioned to be, he accepts his fear and chooses his own path.

Show is an 8.5 maybe a 9/10. Narrative parallels were on point and I enjoyed what was on screen. They’re setting new status quos, I’m sad Hal is gone🥲 but I know John will get it done
