You know the older I get the more I realize I didn’t have to be the strong one all the time and hold in my tears bc I was trying to hold everyone else up and when I finally came to that realization, I’m crying for all the things that I pushed so far down. And it’s been just a roller coaster over here bc we’re talking about 25-30 years of pain bc I wanted to be the strong one for everyone else and in my teens and early twenties, I just played this hard role that I wasn’t gonna let anyone make me cry, but had I known that pain would eventually turn to anger, I would’ve just cried my eyes out bc I was so bitter and broken and then Jesus saved me and has changed my entire mindset. And I guess I also never cried bc no one ever really asked how I was doing or how I was holding up and that just made it hurt even worse.

Kids definitely know! Friday I had to say goodbye to a student, it has been a hard 1.5 years of teaching him academics and social/emotional awareness. He left because of him moving, he has special needs and I made sure to have a few more intentional moments that day but never said anything and he went to get in to the car at the end of the day and gave me a huge hug, which is out of the norm. I lost it as soon as I turned to walk away, I was a blubbering mess. The point I am trying to make is used to I would suck it up and never cry those tears but life is too short!
