when she’s hurling insults, the first thing you have to do is reject internalizing it. The second thing you have to understand is that her words need to be translated. they Do not reflect you. They reflect that she is your enemy so stop giving her a value that doesn’t reflect that. A verbal enemy isn’t a threat. it’s an annoyance. Don’t let it hurt you but also, don’t reward it.

I remember that one time in counseling where after a 20 minute breathless rant, I finally got a chance to speak and tried to process the avalanche of everything thing she just said and then she says “hurry up! I don’t have all day” two times with the bonus and don’t be a victim. Well that was it for me. The counselor finally saw what I had been trying to explain and that was it for me. 19 years of that. 🤷♂️
