@everett.pethig: *Edit: I did not expect this post to blow up like it did and the ableism, transphobia and just overall lack of empathy is shocking. Because of this I have a few points to cover. - Firstly I am a full time wheelchair user because I have lower limb paralysis from just below the hips downwards due to a disability that has progressed. - I get leg spasms in my muscles which I can’t control meaning my legs twitch sometimes. Because of this my legs haven’t atrophied very much. I’m also a bigger person so just I have big legs in general. - No I do not have to proove my disability to anyone. My medical care team is well aware of my conditions and no I am not self diagnosed. - Yes I used to be able to walk so finding a video that I’ve posted of me walking from 4 years ago is not the proof you think it is and is honestly hilarious. - Yes I am trans and queer. Miss gendering me does not get the rise out of me that you want it to sorry not sorry. - I dress however I want and it has nothing to do with me being in a chair. - I decorate my chair because it makes it easier for me to process that I am 21 years old and realiant on it. - The second video clip is in slow motion (I thought that was obvious but apparently not) - In the second clip I am pushed all the way forward on my chair and have my feet placed in the floor. I then used my core to fling myself to the floor. Was this a smart idea… no (dw I’m fine) To those who have left lovely comments, found this video funny and/or fought the bigotry in the comments I thank you☺️ ⚠️Do not attempt this if you know you will fall. I’m a professional idiot so it’s fine.⚠️ But in all seriousness this is such a dumb thing to say. You can become disabled at literally any age.
