Absolutely charge a service fee. Gas is too high. That’s why as a single woman I always pay for parts and service because I’ve bought alot of wrong parts. She sound like she was going to be a problem regardless.

You should always collect your service fee up front! Then apply it when you finish the job. If they cause delays because of parts, then you collect another service fee on the day you come back to do the job again! Also only collect the service fee in cash or Zelle-Cash App! These are the type of people that will call the CC company and put a dispute in, then the CC company will just pull the money back from you! Leave the car on bricks and take the part with you! Bye-Bye!
