Yes, I lost 42lbs in the last year after having my baby…but here’s the part I REALLY want you to hear: I didn’t start this journey until I was 15 months postpartum. I wasn’t trying to “bounce back.” I wasn’t racing a timeline. I started when I felt ready and focused on habits I knew I could actually keep doing. Here’s my “guide” to what I’ve done this last year 👇🏼 1. I strength trained 3-5x/week. Mostly dumbbells, at home. I followed a PLAN instead of constantly trying to figure out what workout to do next. 2. I progressively got stronger. I didn’t stay with the same dumbbells forever. As I got stronger, I challenged myself with more weight, reps, control or better form. 3. I walked. A LOT. Most days I aimed for 10–12k steps. Stroller weighted walks, jogs, family walks, getting outside nothing complicated. 4. I focused on balanced nutrition. Protein, carbs AND fats. 👏🏼 I stopped looking at food as something I needed to cut out and focused on giving my body what it needed to train, recover and feel good. 5. I prioritized protein. I made sure I was getting protein throughout my day to support the muscle I was working so hard to build. 6. I ate the carbs. 🙌🏼 Carbs are a MUST for me. They fuel my workouts, help with recovery and have been a consistent part of my nutrition this entire journey. 7. I stopped expecting every week to look perfect. Some weeks I trained 5 days. Some weeks it was 3. Some days I hit my steps. Some days I didn’t. But I stopped letting one imperfect day turn into an imperfect month. 8. I gave it TIME. This wasn’t a 30-day transformation or a quick fix. It was an entire YEAR of doing a lot of simple things consistently. 187lbs ➡️ 145lbs. 42lbs down, a whole lot stronger without living in the gym, cutting out entire food groups or expecting myself to be perfect. If I could make this whole “guide” even simpler: Lift. Get stronger. Walk. Eat protein, carbs + fats. Follow a plan. And KEEP GOING. 👏🏼 SAVE this if you need the reminder that simple + consistent can take you really far. And if you want the exact dumbbell workouts + plan I follow that’s my dumbbell only weekly workout plan 🫡 #homeworkout #athomeworkout #workoutroutine #postpartum
