I personally think it was a really good origin story and sets us up for a lot in season 2 and man of tomorrow

like bro people can’t accept a good ending that doesn’t have a big cgi battle and a John suit up like bro that was a peak way to end season 1

Nah bc why do people insist on every superhero show ending on a huge fight????? Like y’all complain when movies do the same thing over and over again, but shows are exempt from that ig, and also is john just randomly made his suit at the finale it would lose the impact of it showing up in an actual meaningful way 🤦♂️

it's peak because it understands that Marvel ia about humans reaching godhood but DC is about making gods become more human

Turns out solid acting, writing cinematography, and score can make for a good finale if you don't feel like adding a $700,000,000 cgi infested le epic final battle 😎

Larping ahh fans calling ts trash cus they weren’t fighting aliens 24/7 and mainly focused on John’s character development understanding Hal and becoming Green Lantern

courtarraignment :
Superhero shows need to be about superheros. This show should have been about rookie hal and sinestro.

Watch it again. There’s undertones during the entire episode. Hell the football uniforms were the same color as the Lanterns uniforms.

Story > spectacle always. Would’ve been cool to see more constructs or lanterns? Absolutely. But this finale gave us the best possible narrative conclusion to the story they were telling all season. That’s what made it great (Also we’ll get to see the suit & more constructs in Man of Tomorrow)

why are there people saying that "everyone was expecting a cgi-slop fest" when that isn't it at all ? i just wanted a little more ring usage and maybe a tease at john's suit for man of tomorrow. personally i feel like adding in a handful of more scenes where we get to see some constructs would've been really kool and i feel like they could've just shown john going home and on his bed or in his closet was his suit for man of tomorrow.

great world building tbh just wish we got an ending that teased parallax even a little that line from sinestro wasn’t enough, geoff john’s run needs to be adapted it’s literally better than shakespearean tails bro

Idk :
it was more calm, just cleaning up and ending the story with no over the top action. Even finishing with John clearing his debt, becoming a lantern by his own terms, and being in good terms with his family, basically cutting ties with the guardians and everything they caused in his life
