There was actual someone in my college that got flagged for plagiarizing her research paper. She used references from her OWN published research paper for her new research paper and idk why the college was all like “no you can’t do that. That’s plagiarism.”

In my doctoral program they gave us an open book test. A student responded with an answer in the book without a citation and they put her on academic probation.

My niece got suspended because she tried to use Chat GPT to write an essay. She was 13 at the time lol. Ever since then, whenever she says something stupid, someone looks at her and says “oh yeah did chat gpt tell you that?”

I submitted my own essay I wrote in 2002. Those AI checkers said that 100% my paper was AI generated. Now now. How? At least this you know cause you wrote it yourself. There has to be a database somewhere
