Vince posted a TikTok about an incident on a bus where he said he was laughed at by a group of girls because of his deafness. The people involved were seen in the video, and the post quickly went viral. Because of that, the girls and their friends began receiving a lot of backlash online. After the video went viral, some of the girls involved posted on their Instagram Stories, denying that they were making fun of Vince and sharing their own version of what happened. Some of their posts also included insults and statements that made people question Vince’s account of the incident. People then started arguing about who was telling the truth, and the situation became bigger than the original video. But now, Vince has gone live and apologized. And this is the part I genuinely don't understand: WHY IS VINCE APOLOGIZING WHEN HE’S THE ONE WHO WAS HURT? Vince shared his own experience. He talked about what happened to him and how he felt about it. He did not deserve to be made to feel like he was the one who needed to apologize. Vince does NOT owe anyone an apology for speaking about his experience. If the people involved believe there was a misunderstanding, then the proper response is to address it respectfully and take responsibility for whatever part they played—not attack Vince, insult him, or make the situation about discrediting him. And yes, the people involved deserve accountability. Accountability is not the same as harassment or sending threats. Nobody deserves to be threatened or bullied online. But if their actions contributed to Vince being hurt, then they deserve to be called out and expected to take responsibility for those actions. Hindi dapat si Vince ang napipilitang magsorry habang siya yung taong nasaktan. I support Vince. I believe he deserves to be heard and treated with the same respect as anyone else. Vince, you don't owe anyone an apology for telling people about your experience. Let’s stop attacking people and start demanding accountability from everyone involved. Being deaf or having a disability should NEVER be a reason for someone to be mocked, laughed at, or treated differently.
