Also, the landlords needs to understand that the levies and rates are the landlord responsibility. They made it so common that it is the tenants responsibility to pay them whilst they dont even own the property

In South Africa you can never be “held” by a rental agreement . Give 2 months notice and leave if things don’t go well

The landlord at my place has double standard. Its so boring and my husband thinks that is normal behavior because she owns the house. She gets in the house with her husband every 3 months for “ inspection “ . Then she will be like oh you bought a mirror bigger than mine . We share the dustbin with 3 other tenants and thats not enough for 3 people. She will send HR messages like “ Good day , keep the black plastic bags in your house and the dustin collectors only collect if it is inside the bin “ . Like hello ?! They choose to make noise whenever they want but if you laugh a little you will hear a whatsapp notification or a knock! Cant wait to move end of November mxm .

I wish the tenants in my building asked for the levy statement bc wow 😩 I've been victim to services been cut off from the municipality bc the body corporate wasn't paying the water and electricity. I moved out especially since the area already had water outages now I must deal with non payment
