what i got from this was if someone’s going through a rough patch, maybe they don’t need your two sense. maybe they just need you to hold space. be there for them, in anyway they’re comfortable. too many times i’ve caught myself trying to fix someone else’s problem but i realize that this human has trusted me enough to tell ME their worst possible experience. and my reaction is to try to solve it? no. i need to be there and make them feel safe enough to cry, scream, vent. whatever. just be there for them. not everyone wants a solution right then and there.
