@ayngl824: Homemade English Muffins Ingredients: • 1 cup warm milk • 1 heaping teaspoon yeast • 1 heaping tablespoon sugar • ½ teaspoon salt • 2 tablespoons melted butter • 1 medium egg • 3 cups flour • Cornmeal (for coating) • Butter (for cooking) ⸻ Instructions: 1. Activate the yeast: In a large bowl, pour in the warm milk, add the yeast, and stir. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until the yeast becomes foamy. 2. Mix the dough: Add in the sugar, salt, egg, and melted butter. Mix well, then gradually add the flour. Use your hands to knead the dough for about 3 minutes, keeping it old-fashioned style, until it’s smooth. 3. Let it rise: Place the dough back in the bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size. 4. Shape the muffins: Once risen, gently remove the dough and divide it into 6 equal pieces. Shape each into a smooth ball. Sprinkle some cornmeal onto a plate and press each ball lightly into it, coating both sides. Be gentle — don’t deflate the dough too much. 5. Cook on the stove: Heat a nonstick pan or griddle on low heat. Add a small bit of butter to the pan, then place the dough rounds in. Cook for about 6–7 minutes per side, flipping occasionally. If they’re browning too quickly, lower the heat — you want them golden on the outside and cooked through inside. 6. Cool and serve: Once cooked, remove from the pan and let them cool slightly. The best way to open them is to split with a fork to reveal that classic nooks-and-crannies texture.#fypシ #fyp #Recipe #bread #breakfast
