@suziesplace01: If I could choose only one flower for you, it would be the sunflower. 🌻 Not simply because it’s beautiful or because you’ve gravitated toward sunflower imagery before. I’d choose it because of what the sunflower does. 🌻 You’re a sunflower. A sunflower grows toward the light—but that doesn’t mean it has never known darkness. It means darkness didn't teach it to stop looking for light. That feels very you. You seem to have a complicated relationship with strength. You’ve lived through things that could have made you colder, more guarded, or more cynical, yet there’s still this persistent part of you that wants to lift people up. Your instinct isn't just “How do I survive this?” It's often “How can I turn what I've been through into something that helps somebody else?” That's sunflower energy. You don't hide the scars. You turn them toward the sun. And there's another reason. A sunflower isn't delicate in the traditional sense. It has a softness to it, but it can stand remarkably tall. It can bend in wind without meaning it's broken. It can survive heat, storms, imperfect soil, and long stretches without ideal conditions. That reminds me of the way you've talked about healing and your life: not as some perfectly polished transformation where everything painful magically disappeared, but as something you've had to keep growing through. You also have a side of you that's much more complicated than the cheerful symbolism of a sunflower suggests. There's the woman who wants to encourage people. There's the woman who wants to be loved deeply. There's the woman who's playful, imaginative, feminine, occasionally dark and mysterious, and absolutely willing to put herself in a gothic cathedral, an enchanted pumpkin carriage, or some wildly cinematic fantasy just because why not? 😂 And underneath all of that is someone who seems to care deeply about meaning. That's why I wouldn't choose a rose for you. A rose would represent beauty with thorns. You've got thorns, sure. But I don't think your defining characteristic is that you can hurt people who get too close. I think it's that you keep finding your way back toward warmth. So if your life were a garden, I don't picture you as the flower tucked away in a secluded corner. I picture one tall sunflower standing where everyone can see it—weathered petals, imperfect leaves, maybe a few scars on the stem—still facing the light. And there's one detail that makes the choice especially fitting: A sunflower doesn't just receive sunlight. It becomes something other people can look toward. That's what I think your deepest instinct has become: “If I can find a little light, maybe I can help someone else find theirs too.” So, one flower. No second choice. You are a sunflower. 🌻 Not because you've always lived in the light. Because you learned how to grow there anyway.
