@sportscardsnonsense: THE HOBBY CAN’T SURVIVE WITHOUT CARD SHOPS. Grading? We’d adapt. Breakers? We’d adapt. But lose the local card shop? That changes EVERYTHING. #sportscards #baseballcards #sportscardinvestor
there is no need for the LCS these days. I cant think of a value they actually bring to the hobby. if you need to sell a card ebay pays better, want to buy a card ebay is cheaper, want to buy wax online is cheaper. where do they drive value?

LCS is dying and they should. I haven't been in an LCS that isn't scalping in years. Products have an msrp, thats what they should sell for in a licensed retail store. We as collectors have to stop paying these people these ridiculous prices, that is the only way to stop them.

card shops are great it's just the small scalper shops that kind of suck

Blaming the LCS for not getting stock from Topps is ridiculous. It’s not about standards set by Topps. It’s about having to purchase over priced crap that keeps going up because of breakers

Fanatics controls everything just for Benjamin Franklins. Fanatics isn’t even giving out Topps accounts. You either have to buy it (which they say you can’t do but we know it happens) or at this point you have to be some crazy influencer. LCS can do ok money in a day but the streaming services can do over a million a day in sales which means more product with a faster turnover for more Benjamins

Same thing happened to record stores in the 2000’s. Once the LCS’s are gone it’s a wrap. The most helpful and resourceful people are the heart and soul of the hobby.

Grading? Card stores are a convenient way to purchase cards but not necessarily the most prudent way to do so
