The Oath was perfect. He said I choose this ring, not this ring chose me, he said I’ll embrace my fears not expel them, he said I’ll do what’s right, not fight evil not fight any man’s interpretation of evil, he will do was right in service of this lanterns light….. He Proclaims personal agency not servitude to the lanterns corp, service to what’s right even if he is afraid or not. I loved the Oath. This guy is the best lantern even more than Jordan… I can’t wait to see more of his adventures…. If the leaders of the lantern corp go astray he will be the first to give them the middle finger

In the comics he gets to the point where he doesn't need a ring either. I think they hinted at it when he was able to have the bird and the Halogram. After the Guardians are merced, a green lantern tries to come arrest him and turn him in but he got that BTA.

Wouldn't it make sense for someone's willpower be strong enough for the green lantern core to allow any lantern to make their own oath as long as it resembles it's expressed with the same sense of purpose as the oath lanterns feel when they first speak the oath?
