my husband and I did this. we both made a list and kept it secret until our daughter was born. the first name mentioned was on both our lists so we went with it. anyway we didn't think of it but it sounds almost exactly like my son's name AND both her names are prominent character names in a very popular movie franchise so now we look like we love said franchise (we do not). do not name your baby after being awake and in labour for 24 hours.

how common is around the world to name the baby instantly? in finland we wait like 1-3 months before naming so we get to know them well. i think the timing comes from how the name was usually given during baptisms. sometimes people do emergency baptism and give the name early if it seems like the kid might not make it.
