I appreciated hearing you and your your guest Zohran Mamdani talk about how people can carry caricatures of socialism in their minds, and how a clearer conversation can bring the focus back to dignity and the things people need to live: a home, a good education for their children, and reliable ways to get around. I think this is one of the most important conversations we can have right now. The way we define ideas can cause people to lean in or back away. When we take the time to clarify what we mean, and ask how our politics include people in their daily lives, we have a better chance of bringing people together instead of pushing them further apart.
