@aussiemammoth1: She had so little, yet the words on her tongue were, “Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah.” I met this beautiful lady in Tanzania, living amongst the wildlife—lions, zebras and wildebeest. She welcomed us into her humble home and showed us how she lives. A little rice each day, very few possessions, and a smile that stayed with me. My brothers and sisters, we have full fridges, comfortable homes, and still find reasons to complain. Seeing her gratitude made me look at my own. This is contentment. To recognise Allah’s blessings even when life is difficult, and still say, “Alhamdulillah.” It reminded me of the Prophet’s ﷺ teaching that poor Muslims will enter Paradise before the rich. (sunnah.com⁠) May Allah bless her, ease her hardships, provide for her, and grant her Jannah. And may He make us grateful for everything we have.
