Day 4/7 of Pure Essence Oils Week! 🇬🇧 I ordered this when Ben was getting rid of his old bottle designs and moving over to the new ones. I hadn’t smelled the original in a while, so I thought, why not take a chance on it? Sometimes these blind-ish punts pay off. Let’s see where we land with this one. 🌿 Scent Breakdown Opening 🌹 From the initial spray, the first thing that comes to mind is Parma Violets. I can’t lie, this is EXTREMELY femme to my nose. Rose and bergamot are the strongest notes, and honestly, it’s beautiful. The rose gives it that floral character, while the bergamot adds a lovely freshness to stop it feeling too heavy. It’s feminine-leaning, absolutely, but that doesn’t mean it smells any less gorgeous. Dry Down 🌿 Things start getting earthy here, but thankfully, not to the point where the earthiness takes over. I’m putting that down to the oak moss and patchouli. They bring a little more depth and character, balancing the florals without completely changing the fragrance’s personality. This is where it starts becoming more interesting to me. There’s more going on than that initial floral impression suggests. Once Settled 🪵 The woods really bring this together. Sandalwood adds that creamy, woody quality, while cedar brings the familiar dry woodiness we all know and love. Amber introduces a little warmth, but it’s controlled. It doesn’t smother the other notes or turn this into an overly warm fragrance. Instead, it complements everything beautifully. The result is a fragrance with depth, floral elegance and a lovely woody foundation. 📈 Performance * Projection: 2-3 hours of strong projection * Sillage: High * Skin: 7-8 hours * Clothes: 9-10 hours Really solid performance. It has presence, leaves a noticeable trail and lasts well beyond the initial spray. 👔 When & Where To Wear I’ve worn this to the gym, to work and even going out with the lads. It hasn’t disappointed me yet. Is it versatile? Absolutely. Is it traditionally masculine? Not particularly, in my opinion. But why should that stop you? If you enjoy rose, fresh citrus and woody fragrances with a feminine edge, this is worth exploring.
