@chef.ched: DJT is facing attention after expressing sympathy for seven Cornell University fraternity members accused in a highly controversial R*pe case. Speaking to reporters outside the White House on Oct. 2, DJT criticized New York Attorney General Letitia James, who was appointed to handle the case. “Letitia James is a corrupt person,” he said, adding that he felt badly for anyone she was prosecuting because they might not receive what he called a fair shake. Later that day, DJT continued his criticism on Truth Social, questioning why New York Gov. Kathy Hochul had chosen James to prosecute the case. The controversy began after a woman identified as Jane Doe filed a civil complaint on Sept. 16. According to the source, she alleges that she was drugged and subjected to gang R*pe by seven members of Cornell’s Chi Phi fraternity in 2024. Hochul appointed James to the case on Oct. 1 as the allegations continued to draw public attention. The seven men, sometimes referred to as the “Cornell 7,” are accused in the civil case, but the allegations have not been proven in court. The case now involves a high-profile clash over both the allegations and the prosecutor handling them. When a serious case becomes political, the facts can quickly get buried beneath the arguments.
