I’ve heard of off duty Army guys going out to the border and leaving an old pickup as bait for the cartels and then setting up to ambush them when they come to steal it and get in firefights. They specifically leave the pickup in the open near the border to entice them. It’s the desert so bodies don’t last long out there.
