The lady that lived on the other side of my bedroom wall in the townhome died in her bathtub and wasn’t found for about a week and a half my bed was at the time against the wall, so I slept beside a dead person for a week

This is horrible, but my very lovely across the hall neighbor was murdered by her ex husband in the alley right below my bedroom window. My youngest was around 1 at the time, so almost 20 years ago. It was a pretty gripping case for our tiny Montana town. Theres a Dateline episode and several other crime tv shows about it. If the curiosity bug gets you, it was the Susan Casey murder in eastern Montana. Super sad, but when all the details came out, i kept thinking to myself...how could i not hear a thing!?

The couch came from a nearby unit. The killer likely heard about the unit being abandoned. Was possibly there when mgmt was taking pictures for the auction.

I can confirm buying units isn’t worth it. Most of them have very little worth any money

Are there mobs around you?? This feels like something you'd see in The Sopranos or read about in a Mafia novel.... I'm so sorry you both had to experience that in real life......

Early exposure to CSI and Silence of the Lambs had me convinced every storage facility has at least one corpse somewhere in it when I was young and this just reawakened alllllll of that suspicion

My friend was living with us in Alaska while finishing her last semester at the state university. Her family lived in Ogden, Utah and her grandpa would buy storage units. One day when I came home from work, she was on the phone having an intense conversation. Her grandfather had found a mummified woman wrapped in plastic and tied to a wire shelf in the unit he just bought . Turns out the storage unit belonged to a retired police officer who was in the hospital dying from cancer. I never heard who she was or the story of how she got there, but I’m sure you guys can find it somewhere.

We've never found an actual crime scene, but my husband bought and sold storage lockers for years. It's sad how many people leave cremated family members in storage units that end up being auctioned off.

wonder if its one of those facilities that the units dont have tops and anyone can climb over the walls into other units. that would explain the sectional getting into another unit undetected. but it also means it would have taken more than one person to pull it off.

I used to go to my storage unit alone. At night. Nope. Not anymore. I never thought about this even being a possibility but it makes sense especially if the cameras don’t comprehensively cover every corner of the building the storage unit is in.
