@nbcchicago: Two types of viral squishy toys sold nationwide have been recalled because of a potentially deadly hazard to children. The recall notice was posted Oct. 1, with California-based ABC Trading recalling roughly 37,000 of its squishy dumpling and crazy squib ball toys because the water beads inside the toys can expand larger than permitted by the mandatory safety standard for toys. The recalled squishy dumplings are model 3655 of the toy and come in multiple translucent colors. Inside them are glitter and hazardous water beads. A cartoon face is printed on the toy and they are packaged in a tan plastic container shaped like a bamboo steamer. The crazy squib balls, model 3984, come in multiple translucent colors and also contain glitter and the dangerous water beads. They come individually wrapped in a white netting and the packaging says 'CRAZY SQUIB BALL' and 'Squeeze it! Throw it!' on the front. Similar squishy dumpling toys made by a different brand were also subject to a recall in September due to the same hazard.
