I work at Volkswagen, it's highly recommended to bring your car to the dealership for oil changes because our oil is specific and it's usually cheaper to bring it to us, if you go to a jiffy lube or whatever and your oil change is 80$ than they used the wrong oil and your warranty is void. most shops don't carry our oil in bulk, so if our oil change (which lasts 15,000km/9000miles) costs $150, where ever your taking it to will cost $200+ (Canadian) more than likely, and if you do have an issue with your car you have to be ready with receipts claiming you have done your oil changes with the right oil. Volkswagen warranty has denied people because they went to some quick lube place and got the right oil, customers timing chain blew at 70,000kms and they had to pay out of pocket 8k$

or or just actually read the paper work helps save on any "hidden fee" warranty void what the warranty does cover also read the owner/user man helps you learn alot any the car some things I didn't even think I knew about the car I found it by skimming it

In Brazil it does void the warranty. But as about everything voids warranty here, we just search for a easy to fix car. That's how some cars stay 40 years being sold in Brazilian market...
