Literally this is me. I have felt no joy the majority of my life but I have a wonderful life. Easy frustration, leads to rage. My mother and grandparents on maternal side, alcoholics. SSRI don’t help. Adderal calms the rage but the joy. I lack the happiness and joy and I just want that in my life naturally. And not to feel crazy

I was just recently assessed for ADHD and the doctor told me because if can’t remember my childhood than I can’t be diagnosed with ADHD and she ended up diagnosing me with C-ptsd.

Bingo! But can’t this behavior also be associated with trauma response? Especially in families with alcoholic, drug abuse. Bc of the way we have learned to respond to things bc of growing up in these environments. Coping skills?

I’m in menopause and never had any issues with ADHD, but my psychiatrist is testing me for it. Are those connected?

Any insight to why taking L-tyrosine supplements gave me a feeling in my head similar to brain Zaps? I have inattentive adhd! I am going to bring it up to my doctor but the supplements really helped with my mood and energy so I was sad to stop them.

“Then the penny dropped and that moment, when I realised, was almost too much to absorb. I never needed fixing. I was singing the wrong damn song. I really wasn’t broken. Just wired for a world that wasn’t built for me. Where every mask I ever wore was just a kid trying to be enough”. By me. From Ghost In The Signal. On Spotify
