I think hierarchies have merit cause not everyone has innately well trained decision making and certain large scale operations need someone whos both competent and smart. But at the same time our current structure functions nothing like that, alot of decisions made by the upper layers go heavily against our interest, and one way they get away with it is through misinformation campaigns that trick alot of easily influenceable people into supporting decisions that harm the general people
