@smartestworkers: What do you call this in your country? 🧵 It starts as a bale of raw fiber. A machine fluffs it into a soft white cloud, and workers spread it across a sheet of cloth with long wooden sticks until every corner is even. Then it is wrapped, rolled and carried to a rooftop. That is where the real work begins. An elderly woman sits on a mat with one needle and a length of thick thread. She closes the open side by hand, rolls the edges into a clean border, and places two bricks on top to hold the filling flat. Then she stitches across the whole surface, one point at a time. No ruler, no marking, no sewing machine. The last step is a velvet cover with gold trim, and it is ready for winter. These are the real heroes behind the things that keep us warm. Every stitch you see was done by hand. #Handmade #handstitching #TraditionalCraft #SmartestWorkers
